ScoutsReunited has been set up by The Scout Association with assistance from the ScoutBase UK team (ScoutBase UK is The Scout Association's official Members web site).
Since 1907 it is estimated that over 10 million people in the UK have been Members of Scouting. This web site aims to help them link up again with old friends.
We do this by helping people link up using the 8,639 Scout Groups currently operating in the UK
Should you have any problems with the ScoutsReunited website, please don't hesitate to contact us at scoutsreunited@scout.org.uk and let us know how we can help you or improve the service.

If you have made a donation thank you. The money donated will go towards five specific Scouting good causes and from time to time specially selected partner charaties. They are:
- To support work with inner city youth
- The redevelopment of The Scout Association's national activity centre at Gilwell Park
- To support work with young people with special needs
- To support the growth of Scouting
- To help Scouts from financially less privileged countries to take part in both the 21st World Scout Jamboree via "Operation One World"
Monies donated to ScoutsReunited will be used to top up the funds available for distribution to local Scouting. The only exception to this approach is if funds are specifically donated to support the redevelopment of Gilwell Park. These monies will be used for the specific redevelopment of Gilwell Park and will be used to support building and infrastructure projects that are planned to be completed by 2007.
If you are a taxpayer, please make sure you tick the gift aid box. We can claim an extra 28% of your donation in gift aid to add to your donation

Scouting is well known for camps and events. You might have been lucky enough to attend a World Jamboree or another UK International camp as a youth Member or a Troop or Unit Leader. If you have attended such an event you can link your details with the appropriate camp you attended and use ScoutsReunited to catch up with old friends.
When ScoutsReunited was set up we used the list of events, camps and Jamborees we held at Headquarters at the start of 2001. In the time Scouting has been in existence many thousands of events have been run that we do not have listed.
To allow for these events to be used to help you link up with old friends we have set up a system that allows Standard Members of ScoutsReunited to request that an event that you attended that we don't already have registered to be added to our database. You can make this request by using the Find Groups function on the left of the home page. We will then create a new event.
If you are a Full Member you can create your own event yourself by clicking on the Find Groups function on the home page and going to the relevant event and then ask for a new event to be created.
Since Gilwell Park was first aquired it has been developed as the national training centre for Scouting in the United Kingdom. Hundreds of courses have been run and thousands of people have enjoyed the Gilwell training experience.
Over the years courses have been run for Leaders, Commissioners, Patrol Leaders and Trainers, including some specialist courses. Occasionally when asked, or because facilities are un-available, courses run under the control of the National training centre take place at locations away from Gilwell Park.
If you have attended a course you can link your details with the course and use ScoutsReunited to catch up with old friends who did their training with you.
Hundreds of courses are run across the UK each year. To make sure you use a format that allows people to find a course please use the following format:
County/Area:Course Type: Location of Training and Date (year)
e.g. Kent:L2 J238:Swattenden:1995
When ScoutsReunited was set up we used the list of Groups that existed at the start of 2001. Clearly in the ninety odd years Scouting has been in existence many Scout Groups have ceased to exist and some have amalgamated with other Scout Groups. Similarly next year many new Scout Groups will open.
To allow for these changes we have set up a system that allows Standard Members of ScoutsReunited to request a Group that you were a Member of that no longer exists to be added to our database. You can make this request by using the Find Groups function on the left of the home page. We will then create a new Group.
If you are a Full Member you can create your own Group yourself by clicking on the Find Groups function on the home page and going to the relevant Region and then asking for a new Group to be created.
Go to My Groups and click on the 'X' at the end of the Group/Event you wish to remove.
If you are a Full Member of ScoutsReunited you can upload pictures linked to your details. When uploading a photograph, it must be:
- No more than 32Kbytes in size:
- No more than 512 pixels wide:
- No more than 320 pixels high;
- Either a GIF, PNG or JPG file format
The total size of all your photos must be less that 128Kbytes. You can use this function from the My Groups and events page.
Yes! Select Link to Us on the left side of the home page. This page will give you the codes you need to add the ScoutsReunited link to your Group's website.
Enter your Group or event by clicking on the name. An option will appear to edit details of this Group or event. Add the details in the notes box and enter a web site (the website address needs to be in full including http:// at the beginning) and email addresses if they exist. Please note there is a maximum of seven lines of text that can be held in the notes box.You can only use this feature if you are a Full Member of ScoutsReunited (e.g. you have paid the yearly Membership fee)
By paying your upgrade fee to become a full Member (£3.00) you get unlimited access to all services provided by the site for a full year. This means that no matter how many times you use the site within the year to contact people you only need to make one payment. We will automatically advise you when your years Membership is about to expire.
Leaving a legacy to The Scout Association means that you are helping to safeguard the future of the Movement for generations to come. A gift in your will can make a difference to young people across the UK by giving them the opportunity to be part of a Movement that will help them develops skills for life.
The Scout Association is almost entirely self-funding, but if we are to continue essential development work across all sections of the Movement we need legacy gifts. A bequest to The Scout Association, whatever the size, will help us give young people, from all walks of life, a better start..
If you would like a copy of the legacy leaflet or would like more information about how to leave a legacy to a Scout Group, District, County/Area or The Scout Association please contact Natasha Belenkin on 020 8433 7232 or email natasha.belenkin@scout.org.uk.
If you would like to download a copy of The Scout Association Legacy leaflet click on the following link www.scoutbase.org.uk/library/hqdocs/facts/pdfs/leglef.pdf.
